Who can enter? Any person. Persons residing in the Gert Sibande area or who would like to become part of Gert Sibande Chess will need to pay a registration fee of R 120 additional to the tournament fee.
Please provide a copy of ID or Birth certificate and if possible a recent colour ID/Passport photo.

Time Control: 60:60 + 5 seconds increment per move from move 1 (Normal)

Tournament Sections:  
Section A: Born in 1998 or before
Section B: Born in 1999, 2000, 2001 & 2002
Section C: Born in 2003 & 2004
Section D: Born in 2005 & 2006
Section E: Born in 2007 & 2008
Section F: Born in 2009 and after
  The organizers reserve the right to combine sections or make changes.
Please note: Players can play in higher sections if preferred! Players will be entered into the section as selected on the entries page.

Entry fee is payable at the event in cash only!
Confirmation & Payment: 7:00 - 8:00
Arrivals after 8:00 will only be playing from Round 2.
Round Times:  
Opening: 8:00 – 8:15
Round 1: 8:30 – 10:40
Round 2: 10:50 – 13:00
Round 3: 13:10 – 15:20
Round 4: 15:30 – 17:40
Round 5: 17:50 – 20:00
  Rounds 2 to 5 will start 10 minutes after the finish of the previous round.
Default Time: 10 minutes
  All players not seated 10 minutes after the start of each round will be defaulted for the round!

Prize Giving: 15 minutes after the end of the final round of each section! Players must be present to claim their prizes.
  No player can receive more than 1 prize.
Playing Conditions: Latest FIDE Laws of Chess (as enforced from 1 July 2014) will be applied.
No active electronic media allowed in playing venue!
All games MUST be recorded.
The following tie breaks will be used for players ending on the same score:
Bucholz; Sonneborn-Berger; Cumulative; Number of won games
Disputes will be referred to the Appeals Committee at a cost of R 20 per appeal.
